Wordless Wednesday

Hey all! I'm heading out to spend some quality time with my crazy kids and invalid husband (he is recovering from throwing his back out and having a bad flu bug), so I'm just popping in to say howdy!

Wednesday will really be sorta wordless today. Whaddya know?

My kids have been on summer vacation for less than a week and we already have our first casualty:

Lamp shade: 0, giant bouncing ball (NOT IN THE HOUSE!): 1.

Have a happy HUMP day!

Look at you with your high-falootin' fancy lightbulbs and all. I bet you even recycle.

My daughter better pray she doesn't break anything in the next 2 months because I've got 2 eyes and a paddle and I'm ready! I'm kidding. I don't spank my kid...

What? What's wrong with the lamp?

Oh, right. it needs a red bulb.

Where in the world do you find lightbulbs like that??
That thing is bizarre! I want one!

(Sorry about your lampshade.)

Kate - Yes, we are certainly high-falootin'! And "recycle" is my middle name. That, and Danger.

Heather - I wanted to paddle my kid when I saw this lamp, believe me!

Mike - Nah, the red bulbs are in my bedroom.

Frank - Back at'cha!

Salt - they're energy saver bulbs! They last 3x longer than regular bulbs & use less energy. Good stuff.

Those darn kids. Mine broke the patio door lock, though she claims it was like that when she got there.

Lamp shades are passe, by the way. Just check out our lamps about the house, I haven't yet found the box I used for the shades...

Oh Bev, sorry about your lamp.

(pssssst, guys, don't believe Bev. That was the nicest thing in the Shack Of Crap (circa last weekend) and Bev obviously nicked it.)

Ah, I hate when you have to throw a flag on the play IN THE HOUSE. grrr!

I guess I'm high falootin' too, because when I replaced one of the recessed flood lights in the bathroom, I got an energy saver fluorescent. But it takes a minute to warm up (and get bright) which I'm still getting used to.

Mala: Eeeeew!! There's not enough Lysol in the world...

I hope your husband and your lampshade get better soon !

Elliott - Oh, the old "it was like that when I got here" act. Yeah, I'm familiar!

And the bald light bulb is growing on me. It's very urban chic.

Mala - Yes, stealing the few sticks of furniture available at the Crap Shack was sorely tempting, ya' got me!

MtnMama - I love the energy-saving bulbs 'cuz I can be lazy and change them less often. Plus I can feel virtuous for saving the Earth and all. ;)

Senorita - Thank you!

I can't imagine that having the flu, and a bad back, at the same time is pleasant....at all. :-(
