Random Ramblings about my BFF: Television

Hiya, cheeky monkeys!  I'm not making any OOBH Stew this week - sorry.  I just... well, I just don't feel like it, and since I AM the boss of ME here on my blog, I'm just not gonna do it.  Instead I'm going to ramble on about one of my favorite subjects - television - just for the helluvit.

The True Blood finale is this Sunday night, and it will be EPIC, but I'm sure gonna miss having it as my Sunday night ritual.  This show has easily become my favorite hour of television each week.  Now what am I gonna do - find real porn to watch?  Sheesh.

The good news is that Dexter returns soon, so my craving for clever, well-written hour-long dramas with lots of sexy violence will be satisfied once again. Last season was one of the best ones yet; John Lithgow was SUPERB as the Trinity Killer.  Did you all hear about what poor, confused John said in his Emmy acceptance speech, btw?  He thanked the wrong network!  Dexter airs on Showtime, but he thanked HBO.  OOPS!  That's a pretty big pile of faux-pas to step in.

On the comedy front, I'm looking forward to another season of some the few sitcoms I watch: Modern Family, 30 Rock, Community, Parks & Rec, and to a lesser extent, The shark-jumping Office.

The older I get, the less TV I watch.  I've abandoned pretty much all reality TV except for Top Chef, even though I should really quit watching that one because it never fails to give me the munchies.  It's 10 o'clock at night and Jim and I start combing the fridge because of all the savory goodies they're making.  Bad!

I'd be remiss if I didn't remind you all that one of my comedy idols, Chelsea Handler, will be hosting the MTV Music Awards this Sunday night.  Just FYI!  She might even make it watchable.  Maybe.

Anywhooooooo.  I hope you all have a fun weekend.  Here's one last thing to (hopefully) give you the giggles.  I know it made me laugh!

That's all she wrote!  Have a great weekend!
XOXO

Oooo, ooooo, I'm the first commenter!!! Yay me!
"I'm stuffed." That's a good one!
I've been watching True Blood on the interweb this entire season and I'm seriously addicted. There are a million characters I've swooned over, but can we just talk about Russell Edgington? Awesome! And Jesus? Sweet Jesus.

SONOFA!!!! I've been replaced! What the....!

(childish rant over)

Yeah, Top Chef makes me sooooo hungry. And disappointed. Stale, off-brand chips ahoy cookies just don't fit the bill when you're watching a finely prepared glazed duck.
And I'm down whenever you want to play the Top Chef drinking game;
whenever you hear the words "protein", "balance", or "savory" you must DRINK!*

*HA! Try playing that with your TV! oh, wait....

I can't believe this season of True Blood is already over. What the hell am I going to do on Sundays now?

Looks like I'm just going to have to pass out drunk after the football game ends at 4pm.

Brooklyn - Oh yes, Jesus is also a hottie-mc-hot-hot! YUM. Russell Edgington is one of the best characters on TV, EVAR. Srsly, yes. I'm really gonna miss this show!

Mala - Heee, sorry! You know you're still my BF&BBF (Best flesh & blood BF)! I love that idea for a drinking game, but I have to add "FLAVORS" to the words. If I had a nickel for every time they say flavors... I could almost pay my Comcast bill!

Salt - You are such a problem-solver! Love it!

I haven't been watching True Blood or Dexter but I need to b/c I keep hearing really good things about both.

Thursday nights are a solid night for sitcoms but I'm over the Office. I realize the expression "I'm over something" is over, but whatever, I'm old & dusty & allowed to be lame sometimes. : )

Do you watch the first 48? It's best show on Direct TV.

Geez, you and my husband, kindred souls, I tell ya. He's giddy for Sunday night. If Chelsea ever appeared on True Blood he'd probably die. I can't wait for the TB finale so I can cancel HBO.

Top Chef, have always loved it, am known to watch it all day, regardless of how many times I've seen it. But mark my words, if that creepy Angelo wins I am never watching it again.

Tracey - You really should watch them! Such good TV. And I'm also over The Office!

Israel - Never heard of it! I'll have to seek it out. Thanks!

Smama - Oh yes, Crying Angelo. He is uber creepy, I agree. I was so sad when what's-her-face got kicked off two episodes ago. See how much I liked her? I can't even remember her name.

As my dad used to say, "We'll never forget what's-his-name."

Happy TB Night to Dave!

I think Chelsea should have showed some side boob in that picture.

HA! Tiffany, by any chance? I thought she'd go further.

I don't particularly (read: At all) like True Blood, but actually finding real vampire porn with HOT people? That has to be pretty much impossible! So something has True Blood given us who doesn't watch it too.

But hey.. give me a ring if you do find some..
